From what I have heard, it is about Metallica's (particually Lars Ulrich), fight with Napster and all the crap the got because of it. Its sort of the "Screw you. you can hate us as much as you like, but we are not going anywhere". The lines "Shoot me again, I ain't dead yet" pretty much mean that.
