According to proofhouse.com ,a Colt combat commander with that serial number was manufactured in 1977. The 1978 series started with 70SC57900.
I own a Colt .45 Government Model C155009 can you tell me the mfg date and estimate value?
much depends on condition and mfg date.........from $400 to $1200 average
You can contact Colt Mfg for a production date. I believe they charge a small research fee to provide written documentation. Or you can find a Colt forum on the web & ask its members. The forums often have production date lists on their sites.
read the slide again. it probably says '45' not 48. also on the right side is a serial number. that will indicate date of mfg. date of mfg. and condition helps to give a value..................
you must provide the serial number in order to determine the mfg. date.................... on any firearm.
try: Colts, date of mfg, by R.L. Wiston, Simon & Shuster, 1230 Ave of the Americas, N.Y., NY, 10020
I think the Colt cowboy .45 came out after 1998.
If you call Colt with the sn, they will tell you.
depends on mfg. date and condition. age can be found with serial number. condition has to do with finish and how much original it is. for value check with Felix WITH a serial number: felix@bedians.com
A Colt government model .45 with that serial number was made in 1917.
