The solar system is our immediate neighborhood of planets, moons and other objects like comets. The solar system includes our star (the sun) and everything that orbits it. All of the 8 major planets, their moons, asteroid belts and all the other stuff (and there is a LOT of it) that happens to orbit the sun make up our solar system.

The Milky Way (one of countless galaxies) is the gigantic collection of stars of which our sun is a member. There are billions of stars in the Milky Way. They all orbit the center of the Milky Way. At the center is a super-massive black hole. The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy; you have seen photographs of similar galaxies.

So, the Milky Way is the galaxy that we live in. The solar system is our system of planets (one of many) in our galaxy. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Pluto is now a minor or dwarf planet.
