To use Morse Code using light, you need a hand held torch which has the ability to switch on and off by use of a button preferably. In the Royal Navy and most other Navies a 5 inch hand light (close signalling), 10inch light (mid - horizon signalling) and 15 inch lights (horizon signalling) are used.
You must ensure that the light is pointed directly at the receiver at all times any stray movement can result in the receiver not seeing the letter or even message being sent.
Simple press and release the button on your light quickly or slowly to indicate a dot or a dash. Leave a long period between words, so as not to confuse the receiver, also wait until the receiver gives one long flash to indicate they received the word correctly.
If you make a mistake during a word you need to give 8 dots which indicates an error, you then resend your word.
If there is a light source reflecting your mirror at a certain angle it is possible to send a Morse code to another person from a distance.
Morse Code
A character code invented by Samuel Morse it is called the Morse code and it was invented in 1844. It was replaced by a simplified International Morse Code that is easier to use in 1865.
A message transmitted by a telegraph is called a TeleGram.
Morse clicks, called Morse code, are dots and dashes. Dots are the short clicks, while dashes are longer. Morse clicks, called Morse code, are dots and dashes. Dots are the short clicks, while dashes are longer.
You use a light and talk
Morse code uses short and longer impulses to spell letters which become words, which anyone listening can "read" if they know the Morse code. The other person can answer in Morse code whatever they feel like. Morse code can be sent by sound, light, marks on a paper strip and so on.
Morse code is an audio code (or blinking light code), it has nothing to do with flags. When flags are used to send messages, this is called semaphore, so they would be "semaphore flags".See the related links below.
No. Queen Victoria didn't invent Morse code. The person who invented it was called Samual Morse in 1848.
He invented Morse code and the device called a Keyer to send the code.
Computer don't have Morse code. They use something called Binary Code. It uses 1s and 0s for the letters whereas Morse code uses dots and dashes.
It is called "Semaphore code".
