Puncak Jaya some times known as Mount Carstensz or the Carstensz Pyramid, is a mountain in the Sudirman Range, the western central highlands of Papua Province, Indonesia. Other names include Nemangkawi in the Amungkal language, Carstensz Toppen and Gunung Sukarno.
Mt. Puncak Jaya is the highest mountain in Oceania. It has an elevation of 5030m, and is in Indonesia. However - some sources say that Indonesia is not truly a part of Oceania, in which case, the highest mountain in Oceania would be Mount Wilhelm, in Papua New Guinea, which is 4509 metres high. Papua New Guinea is part of Oceania.
