North Dakota's state flower is the Wild Prairie Rose (Rosa blanda or Rosa arkansana). It grows along road sides, in native meadows and in prairie pastures. It has five bright pink petals with a cluster of yellow stamens. The petals and rose hips are edible.

The Wild Prairie Rose was dedicated as North Dakota's state flower in 1907.
