Well, it is a type of abuse of power, you are holding something over a person and getting them to do your bidding for you and having them think that everything that is wrong with the situation is your fault and usually involves threatening to tell the victims, family and friends of the issue in a bad light, which makes them fear not doing the abusers dirty work.
