Radioimmunotherapy is a promising way to treat cancer that has spread (metastasized) to multiple locations throughout the body
To carry out radioimmunotherapy, antibodies with the ability to bind specifically to a patient's cancer cells are attached to radioactive material and injected into the patient's bloodstream
Alpha radiation is also used in the medical field for radioimmunotherapy to treat certain types of cancer. It is also used in industrial applications such as thickness gauges for measuring coatings on materials.
