I think that answer given is a very diplomatic answer, the indus valley civilization was started by dravidians and they tend to be darker in color and the first god of hindus was pashupathi aka shiva, and the other gods such as vishnu and the reincarnations of vishnu such as krishna and rama, when other lighter skin people came and adopted their religion they made them from dark skin to blue, so that this would not look like the original people who started their religion.
