From what I can tell, relaxology is a relaxation technique similar to massage. Unlike massage however, there is not pressure applied or manipulation of tissues. It is a legit technique as it has a certification body called Relaxology Professionals of America. Its new and still on the outside looking-in as far the bodywork industry is concerned.
I was curious why the question was asked in the mental health section. But as i researched, they focus on mental relaxation more so than physical if that makes sense. There is a light fingertip touch involved, but its to promote relaxation of the mind. Perhaps they view this as a drug alternative to mental relaxation.
Relaxation therapy is a broad term used to describe a number of techniques that promote stress reduction, the elimination of tension throughout the body, and a calm and peaceful state of mind.
