Ummm, I grew up there. There is really no "beach" and there has not been one since the mid-1960s, but the community is surrounded by the Patapsco River. Sparrows Point, an old steel producing factory for Bethlehem Steel lies across the river on the north side and Baltimore City and the Key Bridge lie to the Northwest, both of which can be viewed from the "beach" area of Riviera Beach. The population is 94% white, and mostly middle to lower middle class in nature. Pretty uneventful place....oh, and no one calls it Ri-vi-era Beach, it is only referred to in Baltimore twang as Riveera Beach.
