Saints Row 3 is about the fall, and rise again of the 3rd Street Saints.
At the end of SR2 they'd become a commercial enterprise, selling merchandise, starring in movies. While robbing a bank (as a form of method acting for Josh Burke, star of NyteBlayde), the boss, Johnny Gat and Shaundi are arrested. They are handed over by bribed police, to Philippe Loren, leader of a three-gang Syndicate who demands a majority cut of the Saints business. When they refuse, he has them bankrupted, but a fight breaks out on his private jet, the boss and Shaundi end up parachuting into the Syndicate's home turf of Steelport. Swearing vengeance, the boss vows to wrest control of Steelport from the Syndicate.
