Sonderkommando Elbe's motto is 'Treu, Tapfer, Gehorsam'.
There were two types of Sonderkommando; the German Sonderkommando and the Jewish Sonderkommando. Essentially the word just means 'special squad', ie. a squad created for special duties. The most famous is of course the Jewish Sonderkommando, as they were the squads employed in the extermination process.

Sonderkommando "ELBE"
Bela Katz was a Hungarian Jewish man who was a member of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz-Birkenau. As a member of the Sonderkommando, he was forced to assist in the disposal of bodies of gas chamber victims and other tasks related to the extermination process. Katz's detailed written testimony provides valuable insights into the operations of the Sonderkommando and the horrors of the Holocaust.
They were the Sonderkommando ('Special squad').
No, but the Sonderkommando rebelled. The only camp where there was a mass breakout was Sobibor.
Basically the Jews died and the Sonderkommando picked the things up.
The (Jewish) Sonderkommando, or special squads were known under many different names. They were squads made up of inmates who worked in the killing centers, dealing with the people before the Nazis killed them and with the the processing and disposal after the murders.
They were called the Sonderkommando - Special squad.
They were blown up - one by the Sonderkommando, then later the rest by the SS.
a kommando is just a squad. on the easter front 'Sonderkommando' (special squads) were sent out to kill Jews. work groups from concentration camps were call kommandos, they were named after their leader, so if the leader was called Patel, then the squad would be called the Patelkommando. in many of the death camp the 'stokers' (to give them their offical title) were called Sonderkommado (special squads) - known now as Jewish Sonderkommando as not to be confused with the pre-existing Sonderkommando.
