A beatitude saint is someone who is recognized by the Catholic Church as having lived a life of holiness and virtue, in accordance with the teachings of Jesus' Beatitudes found in the Sermon on the Mount. Beatification is the step in the canonization process where the person is declared "Blessed" and given the title of βBlessedβ before potentially being declared a saint.
