If it is that type of media thing then they help complete the look of the model, celebrity ect. by giving them appropriate hair and makeup to match the outfit, for example: if the client was wearing a biker jacket and a rock style outfit, then the makeup department would make the makeup equally dramatic, and the hair department would do the same.
