Ralph Bakshi created an animated film based off The Hobbit. Rumors are going around now that Peter Jackson (director, producer, and writer of The Lord of the Ringsmovies) is working on a new movie for The Hobbit, maybe even two. It is rumored that they will be coming out in 2012.
