I am going to add that sociology studies the interactions of people groups, the consequences of individual or group actions and the the study of commercial and industrial or military enterprises. Sociologists study and label phenomenons or events, for example, the term "Baby Boom, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Hippies." Sociologists will also look at a current group and compare them to a past similar group.
