10baseT network is based on twisted-pair cables, and is characterized by 10mbit/sec throuhput. Taking into account some overhead (additional control bits), it provides an actual data flow speed of around 0.5 to 1mByte/sec.

The maximum distance between two active devices must be less then 100 metres, and it will run on standard Cat3 cabling, using two pairs (of four).

Do 10baseT networks still exist today?

10baseT networks cords do still exist in 2013. They are considered to be a cheaper alternative to create a LAN network. The flaw in the cord however, is that if there is a small malfunction in part of the cable, then the whole thing will not work.

Star networks can support a maximum of only 1024 addressable nodes on a logical network?

A lower speed network such as a 10BaseT network can handle 1024 devices per segment; that is not the limitation on the entire network.

What is the difference between Cat 2 verses cat 3 cable?

Cat 2 cable was rated at 4 or 16 mbps whereas cat 3 cable would be rated at 10 mbps. Since 10baseT networks with Ethernet ran at 10 mbps this meant that cat 2 cable would not be useable in those networks. The minimum category cable for those networks had to be at least a cat 3 cable.
