What are the different types of chemical reactions?

Four types:A. Synthesis (composition):two or more elements or compounds may combine to form a more complex compound.Basic form: A + X → AXB. Decomposition:A single compound breaks down into its component parts or simpler compounds.Basic form: AX → A + XC. Replacement:a more active element takes the place of another element in a compound and sets the less active one free.Basic form: A + BX → AX + B or AX + Y → AY + XD. Ionic:occurrs between ions in aqueous solution. A reaction will occurr when a pair of ions come together to produce at least one of the following: a precipitatea gaswater or some other non-ionized substance.Basic form: AX + BY → AY + BX

When will a homogeneous system of equations be inconsistent?

A homogeneous system of eqs: Ax=0 will always be consistent, since x=0 is always a possible solution. However, if det(A)=0 then there will be infinite solutions, as |A|=0 implies that either no solutions or infinitely many exist, and it is impossible for no solutions to exist to Ax=0. If det(A) is non 0, then x=0 is the only solution, as |A| is not equal to 0 implies a unique solution only!(in this case x=0). Hope this helps!

What is a cubic function?

It is a function of the form:f(x) = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + dwhere x is the argument of the function and a, b, c and d are numerical constants. All the powers of x must be non-negative integers and the largest power must be 3 - that is, a must be non-zero.
