i have a quarter with no back on it no date with a P
If the two dates are 1776 & 1976 It's a bicentennial quarter and it's still worth a quarter If it's a state or territorial quarter, has two dates on the back and one of them is between 1999 and 2009 it's also just worth a quarter. If it has two heads with a date on each side it's a magician's coin - see the Related Question.
It's just a quarter, spend it.
$39,075
1942 is not a rare date for Lincoln cents -- and copper is the normal metal for that date (1943 is the year for steel cents, so a copper 1943 is the rare one). In circulated condition your 1942 cent is worth about 3 cents. A nice uncirculated one is worth about $1.00 That's PENNY, not "pennie". In any case 1942 cents are not rare. In worn condition they're worth less than a dime. With only moderate wear, a 1942 cent with no mint mark under the date is worth about a quarter. With a D, 30 cents; with an S, 70 cents.
A 1942 Washington quarter is common. If it has any wear, the value is just for the silver, about $3.50.
Most are only valued for the silver, about $6.00. 1942 is a common date.

See the Related Question for values. Prices for 1942 quarters aren't dependent on the mint mark.
A quarter from 2006 would still be worth 25 cents.
All coins dated 1942 were struck IN 1942
Right now, it's worth around $3.00.
How much is a 1964 quarter with back side up side down..???

1942 is a very common date Washington quarter. Most are only valued for the silver, about $3.60 as of today.
A 1981 U.S. quarter is worth 25 cents. You should have no trouble finding this date and others back to 1965 in common circulation. All are made of copper-nickel clad metal, and none are worth anything special.
