hi i recently sold a merc 85hp blue band around the same age as yours in running order for $450.00 i wanted more but couldn't get it.
I have seen them sell for between $600 and $800,, not all people can afford to buy a new motor, but will buy a cheaper one in good cond, if theres blows up and just want something cheap to keep them on the water,, anyway i hope this helps good luck and happy fishing
