A 64bit Processor is a specific type of processing chip.

In general, a processor is a micro-chip designed solely to do calculation, to be the brains of a computing system. More specifically, the "64bit" refers to the size of the data inputs, or in other words the size of each piece of information being sent to the processor as 1 step.

In this case, each instruction being sent to the processor would be 64 bits, or 0's and 1's, long.

8bit 16 bits 32 bits and 64 bits and 128 bits imply a broadside [parallel] output of that many bits of digital information on a buss output. these bits represent a word output. therefore the longest the word the more information can be processed at a time imply more bits the faster the computer or data flow.

What actually you mean by 64-bit when you say 64 bit processor?

64bit processors have most registers specially the integer registers as 64bit. It can handle 64bit wide internal and external data. All internal and external buses may or may not be 64bit wide. - Neeraj Sharma

Can you run 32-bit Windows XP on a 64-bit process?

No, not unless all of the following .Confirm that the computer's processor and motherboard are both 64bit. All 64bit Windows Operating systems will only work on computers that have both 64bit processor and 64bit motherboard architectures.Confirm the computer has no less then the other minimum hardware requirements (Processor Speed, Ram memory, Hard Drive memory, etc.) for the Windows 7 64bit version you want to install.Windows XP 32bit must be removed/deleted before doing a clean install of Windows 7 64bit on the hard drive.

How much memory can a computer use?

It all depends on the architecture that the processor is built on. If it is 32 bit architecture, 2^32 it will be 4gb. If it is a 64bit processor it can access 2^64 memory locations, or 16gb.

Is there a LOL 64bit version?

There is not. And that is because 64bit can run 32bit, but 32bit has problems running 64bit.
