I believe this is a rifle not a gun. Go back and look again for the model number. I think you are giving the serial number and that doesn't help.

Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Vary Good or Excellent (like new) condition? Re-post your question with this information and I will give you an estimate of value. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MY GUN IS IN WHAT I WOULD WOULD SAY ALMOST PERFECT CONDITION I HAVE NOT FIRED IT BEFORE AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE ESTIMATE ON THE PRICE The 132 in "Excellent" condition, no dings, scratches, wear, or missing paint is worth between $80 to $100' Today "Crosman air gun company" owns the Benjamin line of airguns and rifles.
I've researched several airgun catalogues and can not find a Benjamin model 217. However the 17 at the end of model 217 indicated that it's a .177 caliber air gun. The name Franklin added to Benjamin was a marketing ploy to sell the air gun. Benjamin Franklin had nothing to do with it. Walter Benjamin invented the Benjamin line of airguns back in the late 1800's. Please recheck the model number and give me some sort of rating like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent on the current condition of the air gun so I can give it a value (If we ever identify it)
