A bible passage is usually several bible verses talking about a certain subject in The Bible. An example would be John 3:1-21, but some passages are shorter.

A bible verse could be John 3:16, or John 14:6. Many people memorize bible verses as they are short and remind the person of what else God has taught them about the particular subject. Bible verses can be picked out of a bible passage for memorization and recall.

Scripture

****************

This a good question! Partly, I think, because there might be several ways to answer it depending upon, well, some semantics. I hope what I'm adding might be helpful.

While it is one book we can also think of the Bible as being multiple books that comprise the complete works of the Bible.

Two larger parts - the Old and New Testaments.

The Old Testament containing 39 works or "books.

The New Testament containing 27 "books".

These books have been divided into chapters, which contain numbered verses.

The numbering system of chapters and verses was created as a reference aid so that specific passages could be located easily.

An example might be the well know scripture is John 3: 16- referring to the fourth book in the New Testament, its third chapter, and 16th verse.

"John 3: 16" is basically the address to help us find the passage that says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Does this help with your question?

The Chapters that make up the books of the Bible. In both Testaments, Old and New, there are many Books, like Psalms, John, Revelations etc. and in each Book, there are a few Chapters, numbered. In each Chapter, there are also verses. Books can have many Chapters, and Psalms has 150 Chapters, and some books only have 3. As well as this, Chapters can be as long as 176 Verses, or as short as 2.
