chem-7 is a basic metabolic profile
A basic lab test. A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel or CMP
A doctor will order a Chem 7 lab test to check certain levels of glucose, calcium, sodium, potassium, and carbon dioxide. It also gives the levels of blood urea nitrogen and creatinine.
general chem and lab organic chem and lab biochem inorganic chem thermodynamics quantum mechanics
except lipid profile approximately all routine test of bio-chem. can be done.

Chem-8 or BMP (basic metabolic panel) or the older term SMA-8 (sequential multichannel analysis) refers to a blood test which measures the levels of 8 chemical compounds. The levels of these compounds are often used to diagnose and track the progression of certain medical conditions or monitor the body's responses to medications and/or toxins. These compounds include sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chloride (Cl-), bicarbonate or carbon dioxide (CO2), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, glucose and calcium (Ca2+). Chem-7 refers to all of the above except calcium.

This type of blood test measures 13 different substances in the body. It commonly evaluates electrolytes and other substances to get a closer look at a patient's general health.
