control speed,noise, and wake
You are operating a pwc and you are heading straight toward a dock, you cut the throttle to idle and then turn the steering control hard right so the pwc will go straight, it has no power this way.
It will Continue Toward The dock
If you are operating a PWC and shut off the engine, the engine will stop, but the PWC will continue forward and you will have no control over the speed or direction in which you are traveling. This is not a good thing to do in busy areas.
control speed,noise, and wake
The operator of a PWC is legally required to wear a USCG-approved life jacket at all times while the vessel is in operation. This includes both personal watercraft being driven and those being towed on water skis or other similar devices.
You should avoid operating your motorboat or pwc above no wake speed near the shore because engine efficiency is reduced.
