The Dutch don't bake. But apparently I hear that cupcakes are a fad right now, really trendy. Workshops are offered on how to make cupcakes (just normal cupcakes) and they have started to sell single cupcake holders so that they can carry around their single cupcake.
Just so you know, the Dutch used to bake, and their immigrant descendants in other countries still do, but there was a big frugal push in the mid 20th century that affected their food profoundly. Most people in the Netherlands don't even have ovens. But they do have a microwave called a magnatron which can be put on a convection oven setting, but it is small, like a microwave. So you can't put a cookie sheet in there - Americans celebrating Thanksgiving there have a hard time because the magnatron won't hold almost anything baked, and they can't even find the ingredients. I don't know what Amsterdam is like though, maybe they have more specialty stores there. And they have to make a point of buying a regular oven and finding a space for it.

Cupcake pans usually have multiples of six in them. For example, small cupcake pans will have six cupcake holders in them, larger ones will have twelve, and quite large cupcake pans will have up to 24. Of course, there are exceptions but that is the most common.
