To the best of my knowledge the Hindus and the Catholic Church have nothing whatsoever in common in the way of religious rituals or ceremonies. The Catholic Church's rituals and ceremonies are rooted in the ancient Hebrew religion, not in the East.

To prepare for Diwali, Hindus decorate their homes with colorful decorations, lights, and candles. They also dress in fancy clothes, go to church, and celebrate.
A Mandir is a place of worship, i.e. a temple. It is a Hindi word and usually refers to a Hindu place of worship. The mandir houses the idols of the Hindu dieties. They are worshipped and prayers are offered.
For Muslims -Mosque, for Hindus-Mandir, for Christians Church etc. Each religion has different name for its place of worship
Hindus do all the things non-Hindus do and they have all the emotions that non-Hindus have.
Many hindus do have arranged marriages but not all hindus do.

Jainism is a religious off-shoot to Hinduism, originating from the Indian sub-continent. The place of worship for Jains and Hindus are commonly known as the temple.
