Depends on the model and condition. It can be worth nothing to several thousand.
I do not know too much about the value of such but I have one, a ten guage double barrel with external hammers that my dad bought from a pawn shop in the 1950s. I have no wish to sell but would also like to know the history .
It would have been sold through Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company of Chicago sometime between the 1890s and 1950s.
A Model 815 Remington .22 caliber made in the 1950s can be worth up to $275 or $300. If it is in poor condition, it may not be saleable.
Iver Johnson.
@ 1950s
i want to find out the value of a 1950s Winchester Remington repeater model 870
1940's-1950s.
The model 190 Mossberg shotgun was manufactured in the 1950s. The exact date would depend on the serial number of the item.
A few hundred to a few thousand.
Late 1940s- early 1950s
If the Model 20 has J C Higgins stamped on the barrel, and is a pump shotgun, it was made by the High Standard Company for Sears in the 1950s. If yourGrandpa gave this to you, it is priceless. To buy another one like it would cost about $150, depending on its condition. PS- I have my Grandpa's .410 shotgun. Congratulations to you on having one of your Grandpa's guns.
On my 1950s vintage Ithaca Model 37 16 gauge it is on the right side of the end of the receiver where the magazine tube and barrel go into the receiver, and also on the barrel adjacent to the number on the receiver. The numbers should be the same on both the barrel and receiver unless the barrel is not the original barrel, at least on mine they are.
