I give up. I looked through all 58 Remington pages in the Blue Book and the Remington index in the Standard Catalog of Firearms and can't locate such a model. Are there any more markings on the gun?
Remington did not make a carbine in .44 Magnum caliber. They did chamber the Model 788 rifle in that caliber. Do you have a Ruger carbine in .44 Remington Magnum, or perhaps a Marlin in that caliber? sales@countrygunsmith.net
Sounds more like a serial no then a model, 44 cap and ball (black powder) Need more info to identify.
The price or value depends on the condition, model, age and collectability. You have not provided any of this information so the question cannot be answered.
I would like to know the value of Remington 44 magnum and the model 1742. and the serial number B7346828
would that be an original or re-pro ???????
Which model, serial? if after 1920 check the date code stamped on the barrel. Remington Society of America, Manufactured Date link has the details.
William P. Remington died in 1963.
William P. Remington was born in 1879.
Your Remington model 341-P was made from 1936-1940,with a total production of 131,604 made during this time span. The Remington society has the Date codes available for you to look up.Your barrel should have a 2,or 3 letter code that will give you the exact month and year of production. I added the related link
J. P. Remington has written: 'Pharmaceutical sciences'
No such model in the Remington line.
Remington didn't make a 44 pump and I suspect the year is actually a patent date your reading on the barrel which is not the manufactured date. If it's a 22lr with no markings it's probably a model 12. Value is GREATLY determined by condition for which none is supplied.
