The V1 and V2 Rockets
blast bomb incendury bomb v1 rocket v2 rocket
the V2 rocket was bigger and faster than the V1 flying bomb. the V1 being a flying bomb was smaller and had a pulse jet engine and the V2 which was a rocket had a bigger rocket engine. ACTUAL SIZE COMPARISON: V1: Length: 25' 4" wingspan: 8.32 meters V2: length 14 m (45 ft 11 in)
Poison gas was the terrifying weapon of World War 1. The V1 Flying Bomb and V2 Rocket were the terrifying weapons of WW2.
The V1 and V2 were German military weapons during World War 2. The V1 was a flying bomb also called a buzz bomb. It used a type of jet engine. It worked similar to a drone. The V2 was a bomb carrying rocket. It was designed by Werner von Braun. He used designs by Goddard from the US patent office. He also started the American space program, which put a man on the moon.
The Germans V2 rocket was the biggest missile of WW2
The bomb that can bomb without needing city lights was called the V2 Rocket bomb. All the Nazi Germans had to do was aim, fire and off it went to the place they wanted to bomb. It was not precision bombing but it was good enough to do a lot of damage to the UK.
the V1:The V1 flying bomb also know as the doodle bug, buzz bomb and V1 rocket, was a missile driven by a pulse jet engine was used by the Germans in world war 2 to bomb England to get ready for the invasion of Britain (operation sea lion) which later was called off, it used a gyroscope navigation system to guide it to its target, the fuel would run out above England and the bomb would fall out of the sky and explode. the V1 bomb had a large launch ramp which meant it could be sighted and bombed and could move. the V2:the V2 was also used by the Germans in world war 2 to bomb the British, unlike the V1 the V2 had a proper rocket engine (newly invented by the Germans) it was much faster than the V1 and had a bigger warhead the launch sites could be bombed because they were mobile and could be towed and set up anywhere. The V2 also was impossible for any fighters to catch up with unlike the V1 which was slow enough that the British invented the Hawker tempest and typhoon .the V in V1 and V2 stands for Vengeance weapon
Germany. They had a rocket called a V2 that was a bomb with a motor. When it ran out of fuel it fell and blew up what ever was under it. The Germans sent thousands of these over Britian. That bomb was actually the V1 bomb nicknamed the doodlebug which was similar to an aircaft in appearance with a ramjet mounted on top. The V2 was a conventional rocket and became the model for future US rocket science
No their scientists were pursuing the idea but later stopped and focused working on the V1 and V2 rockets
A V2 German rocket/bomb reached low-earth-orbit in tests in 1942(In another answer to a similar question, the same contributor writes:"They say that a V2 German rocket/bomb reached low-earth-orbit . . . . . " etc.So I'd be careful about taking this information to the bank, at least until I knowwho "they" is.)
