In the in the family Melanthiaceae, it is a monocotyledonous, herbaceous perennial. It grows in the shady areas of forests. Pedicel is the term that's used to refer to a stalk that has a solitary flower or an 'inflorescence'. An inflorescence is a cluster of flowers. The stalk to which the flower or inflorescence is attached in turn is attached to a stem that's called a 'peduncle'. The peduncle in turn is attached to a main branch that's called a 'rachis'.
Solitary flowers are either sessile or pedicelled. Sessile flowers are without a supporting stalk; pedicelled flowers are supported by a stalk. The bottle brush flower is actually called the callistemon, bottle brush flower is just a nickname for it. The callistemon is a shrub in the myrtaceae family.
