Freddie Mercury (Farokh Bulsara) of the band Queen had considerable success in the British charts from the 1970's on. He was a Zanzibari Parsi. Some years earlier Engelbert Humberdinck had several UK #1's - but he was from a white Raj family, and I would guess you don't mean that.
Not very many...according to research..the most famous 19th-century Zanzibari was Sayyid Sa'id bin Ahmad al-Albusa'idi (b.Oman, 1791-1856), who founded the Sultanate. Another is Mkwawa, chief of the Hehe, carried on guerrilla warfare against the Germans for three years until he was betrayed for a reward in 1898.
fewest total, or on one side? Firstly, I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that there have been declared wars which were resolved politically and without bloodshed, but have no idea what they might be. The best examples I could find were Operation Urgent Fury, the US invasion of Grenada; and the Anglo-Zanzibar war that lasted about 40 minutes. In that war, one british sailor was injured, but about 500 Zanzibari defenders were killed. In Operation Urgent Fury, 113 were killed, 573 wounded, and 638 Cubans (people, not cigars) were captured
