^Too much Call of Duty I see. First off, the Soviet Union no longer exists. Second off, there is no such thing as an "AK-74u" That is a fictional gun that video game companies use to avoid copyright. The correct term is the AKS-74u, it also isn't a sub gun... Seeing as how sub guns have to fire pistol rounds, and it fires the 5.45, I don't see how it can be an smg. If anything is the "brother" of the AK47 it is the AKM, chambered for the same round, and a pretty much improved version. Also, the AK74 is closer to the 47, than the AKS74u is.
