Originally, barns were completely made of logs. With saw mills, the wood from poplar trees was used to cover the outside of barns. It was durable and weathered well. Eventually, with the advent of steel, metal and corrugated steel was used. Sheds followed the same history, from logs to cut wood to steel. Today, builders can use steel, aluminum, wood, or even plastics.
The Arrow Barn Shed is made from prepainted galvanized steel and should not need to be repainted. Just washing it should be all it will need.
