You start at a line, and you have to run to the next line before the beep goes off. It's usually from one side of the gym to the other. You keep running back and forth between those two lines until the next beep comes on, and gradually the beeping will get faster and faster so that you have to run faster and faster to reach the line before the beep. If the beep goes off and you haven't yet reached the line you are out. There are different levels on the beep test...You might get up to stage four, or stage one (which isn't very far). It is part of the fitness test in gym class, and depending how many stages you can get to, will determine your fitness mark. Basically you just keep running until you can't run anymore, so do your best!
Well I'm not 100% sure about this answer, but this is what a beep test is at my school.
Pretty much its like a race in a way. You run back and forth in a gym, and you have to reach the other side before it beeps. Level1, you pretty much jog. Level 2 you run. Level 3 you sprint, and so on. All depending how fast you are of course.
Hope this answer helps
