Most animals in the desert sleep through the day, and come out at night. Lots of desert animals live in burrows and caves where it is naturally cooler. Jack Rabbits have large ears with lots of veins, which cool their blood in the heat. Kangaroo's have a series of veins close to the surface of the skin on their forarms, and when it's hot they lick their forearms. The saliva evaporates cooling the blood. These are just a few ways that animals have adapted to desert life.
