What does borderline "ECG" mean?????? You're a big help!!!!!! Okay, what type of a response is the above to this question? I would like a good definition of "borderline EKG" and this is the reference question and it doesn't even provide a sensible response. This is sad and disappointing to those that need to know.

A borderline ECG is an electrocardiogram that could potentially detect an irregular heartbeat. In a borderline ECG, the readings show some sort of inconsistency so the patient's health will have to be evaluated further.

Any thing other then a "normal sinus rhythm" would be considered abnormal. The only "borderline" case I can think of would be beating to fast or to slow. So it seems you are near one of these limits. Slow is around 50 BPM and fast is around 100 BPM.

Your 13 year old son had a borderline ekg after fainting what could this mean?

Although I didn't faint, I am am 13 and I had a EKG, the nurses whom checked me said it could be caused by depression or playing sports, these make you heart rate slow, as I was told, and cause you to need a EKG. Again though, it could be either depression or playing sports. Athlete's tend to have a low heart rate, ( It is abnormal for a 13 year to have a lower heart rate than adults, this is why they need a EKG also.)
