Answer

A chipset is a group of integrated circuits (microchips) that can be used together to serve a single function and are therefore manufactured and sold as a unit. For example, one chipset might combine all the microchips needed to serve as the communications controller between a processor and memory and other devices in a computer.

What did marcian hoffs invented?

Dr. Marcian Hoff Jr. is one of the inventors of the microprocessor. He was born October 28, 1937 in Rochester, New York. Not all that much. He just got frustrated thinking that the customer's (Busicom) calculator chipset logic that Intel had assigned him to implement in silicon was over 10 times as complex as the logic in the DEC PDP-8 across the room. All their chipset could do was desk calculator functions while the PDP-8 could do 1000s times more!!!He suggested the customer's design be discarded and that he design a computer chipset (instead of a dedicated calculator chipset). That took some convincing at both Intel and Busicom - the result being the 4004 microprocessor.
