I personally do not know much about collections of computer software, because I do not buy much of it, but judging by Adobe's collections, which are the only ones I really know of, I would guess that it would be known as a suite.
A Suite
A software package is a single piece of software to do a single job; for example, Microsoft Word. A suite is a collection of related software packages, such as Microsoft Office (which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
By definition - OpenOffice is a software suite. A software application is usually a single program rather than a collection or 'suite' as OpenOffice is.
It has two meanings 1)A special method of distributing and installing software (or software upgrates) to a computer. For example, on a Macintosh computer, a package usually means "software." It's specifically a directory , presented as a single file, that contains all the information the Mac OS X Installer application needs to install your software. That includes the software itself, as well as files that are used only during the installation process. In a Windows environment it is sometimes called an installation package or update package. 2) Multiple software programs that work together (or performs similar functions) and is bundled and sold together as a software package.
general purpose software is the software that is not written for any specific business or organisation but can be used to suit their specific need whereas integrated software is a set of programs combined into a single package that allows data to be transfered easily between the programs.
People who write the actual code for software are called coders. However, many coders can work on a single software package. People who design the whole software package are called software engineering. But. . . yeah, there should be a software creator for kids.
"Bespoke" means custom made. A bespoke application is a piece of software written (or modified) to meet the requirements of a single customer.
Some of these applications are country specific.
A mod pack is a collection of mods distributed as a package which is realized by making your players download a bunch of mods from a single link.
Total View is a software package that enables memory debugging in single or multiple streams. It can be downloaded from good sites such as Softpedia, CNet and Rogue Wave.
Single-tier architecture is the notion of having the user interface of a web application, the middle ware and the data access all contained in one whole architecture. Usually in Software Engineer you break your application to make them more maintainable and sustainable. If you know that your software will not grow over time, you may want to do a single tier architecture.
A project represents a single, focused endeavour. A program is a collection of projects – together all the projects form a connected package of work.
