A committee is a person, or group of persons elected to perform some service, or function on behalf of a larger organisation, such as the legislative branch. The committee investigates or reports on a particular matter so that the legislative branch can debate, write and pass laws
The bills proposed and discussed in the legislative branch grow out of committee's. Committee's meet and study bills before presenting them to the House or Senate.
