Hydrochlorous acid does not exist. The -ous naming suffix is only used for anions that end in -ite, like the hypochlorite ion. However, an acid with that ion would be named hypochlorous acid. Hydro is only used as a prefix if the anion is not an oxoanion, one that contains oxygen. Hydrochlorous acid does not exist.
