What is a control Unit in a CPU?
The CPU (central processor unit) is a small part of the control unit. In automotive applications, sensor input are the most inportant devices. Ram (random access memory) and ROM (Read only memory, which hold the control instructions or program) The most important part the the timming intervals and fixed assumtions of fuel pressure operationg tempature and ait flow. I hope this helps and isn't too technicial.

CPU is the brain of Computer.CPU is made by different unit and that different unit have different function.Different units are ALU,CU,MEMORY etc (mainly). All the mathematical & logical problem solved by ALU Unit and CU unit control all the unit finally instruction and data goes to memory unit or retrieve from memory unit. These all function control by the CPU
functions of cpu cpu consists of ALU, Control unit assisted by a set of registers. control unit sends control signal to synchronize the flow of information between the different units of the computer and helps to fetch, decode and execute the instructions from memory. alu performs all the arithmetic and logical operations in the instructions. registers help in quick transfer of data to and from cpu.
