The magician's union may kill me for this, but here goes: While wearing long sleeves, hold a pencil by one end while it is in a vertical position. Position a handkerchief over it so that it covers your sleeve. SLOWLY bounce that pencil up and down 3 or 4 times, while extending your index finger (under the handkerchief). Drop the pencil down your sleeve. Say any acceptable "magic word" and pull the handkerchief off of your hand while moving your finger back to it's postition of "just holding the pencil". With practice, your amazed audience will NEVER realize that it is "up your sleeve" Of course, how you make it re-appear is... another trick!
