A substance registering a pH between 1 & 6 is Acidic (Possibly corrosive).ph of '7' is Neutrality e.g. water.

pH between 8 & 14 is Alkaline ( possibly corrosive).

pH is a logarithmic scale of the level of hydrogen ions in a substance.

Numerically larger the pH , then there are less hydrogen ions present.
