I think the questioner means, "[w]hat percentage of the world's population consists of those practicing Hinduism?" Or, perhaps more simply and directly: "What percentage of the world's population practices Hinduism?" If I'm correct, then the answer is: Approximately one-seventh -- or around 14% -- of the world's population of roughly 7 billion (at this writing) people practice Hinduism. So, then, that's about one (1) billion people, give or take... ...the vast majority of whom -- that is, some roughly 940 million of them -- live in India. There are, of course, Hindus in nearly every country on the planet, but, after the roughly 940 million who live in India, most of the remaining 60 million or so live in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji and the island of Bali.
Hinduism, for the most part, but Jainismin the older times!
