What is a customized coat on Howrse?

To create a coat on Howrse, you must buy a Black Pearl from the Black Market. After buying it, you may submit a coat. You must wait for a short period of time whilst Howrse accepts your coat and then anybody can use it with the Golden Apple.

Occasionally, a BM item called The Black Pearl, will become available. It is 4 passes, but, and it's a very big but, you get to create your own howrse coats that you, and other players will be able to use via the Golden Apple. Your coat must be good, otherwise it might get rejected, although you still get your 4 passes back. To create a coat, you need to have a program like GIMP or Photoshop. If you find The Black Pearl on the howrse BM item page, click the icon, and it will have the description, instructions, etc etc, plus the template you need to create the coat. Hope this helped! =D

It is when some bored person uses the black pearl to submit a drawing of a horse. Other people can use the golden apple to pick one of those drawings to be the picture for one of their horses instead of the standard pictures. A coat is just the color of the horses fur, but on howrse, a customized coat means changing the picture of your horse. Hope this helps. -Advicegirl

The only way to do that is with a Golden Apple. With one, just hover over the picture of the horse with your mouse and a bunch of buttons will appear, hit the one that says coat and choose your coat there.
