(LIFE SAFETY WARNING! [disclaimer]

Electricity is dangerous!

You can be injured or killed!

Improper installations can cause fire, injury and death!)

Electricians are exposed to dangerous electrical currents, risking electrocution, burn injuries and death.

There are also the hazards of repetitive physical tasks [back injury], all the dangers inherent in working on construction sites [falling objects, trip and fall injuries], etc.

Electricians use knives and power tools in restricted situations, which can lead to cutting, impact and sprain injuries.

Have a safe day!

the cons of being an electrician are you are exposed to the danger of shock and electrocution if you do not follow the proper saftey regulations (like turning off the power, using lockout/tagout to prevent the power being turned back on), or wear the proper protective equipment (insulated gloves, fire resistant clothing when working on live circuits). Sometimes traveling out of town for work when there is a shortage of work in your home area means being away from friends and family even though you might be making good money out of town.

An electrician's job is dangerous because electricity is invisible, you can not tell if the circuit is on or off. Being an electrician can actually be fairly safe if you get the proper training (OSHA 30, NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety Work Practices).
