In geology: it's mean that there is a narrow ridge (steeper side) in the outcrop
A dip slip is when two pieces of land change their vertical (up and down) position compared to each other. After the movement, one side is higher than the other side.
You use them to cover the object on the slide, so that it doesn't slip. Usually, you put a drop of water in between the slide and cover slip as well. Also, the possibility of trapping air bubbles is reduced.
Take a clean slide (either depressed or flat) and add a drop of water using an eye dropper. Add the specimen and using the slip cover, touch the end of the slip cover to the water. Lay flat as smoothly as possible to omit bubbles from forming.

Put one edge of the cover slip down first, before lowering the rest of it. Do not press down on the cover slip once it is in place.Pick up the slide and cover slip combination and gently place it in the viewing tray of your microscope.
Coverslip keeps the sample uniform and does not let it spill and have many irregularities.
A cover slip is a thin square of glass that you put over a specimen on a microscope slide. The cover slip stops the specimen from drying out, and squishes it so that light can get though it easier
(microbiology) A technique used in microscopy in which a specimen is placed in a drop of a suitable fluid on a cover slip and the cover slip is inverted over a concavity on a slide.hanging-drop-preparation

The proper way to grease a slip yoke is to unbolt one end of the driveshaft. Drop it an puii the yoke apart. Coat the splines with grease and reinstall.
For wet mount slides, yes.
