All Turkish people out there If you had to pick 3 dishes to represent Turkey what would they be?

This is a very hard question to answer. Since each part of Turkey has a different taste, it is really not easy to select only 3 of those... if you are looking for the taste of eastern part, then I would say you should try "Kebab"... you should try ADANA or URFA kebaps which are famous when you eat with "lavaş" (that is Turkish kind of burito or quasedilla bread). Combination of these kebabs with lavaş is called "dürüm"... not to mention different kinds of salads to eat with eat. They are called "meze"... If you want to taste western dishes, then you should learn how to cook your vegetables with olive oil... this part of Turkey prefers to eat more of the vegetables in healty way and has lesser kinds of meal with meat... don't forget about "YAPRAK SARMA" which is fulfilment of "grape leafs" with "rice and mixed spices"... Since Turkey is sorrounded by sea, fish meals are also something to try... There are many different kinds of rice meals that are very very very different than of those in Japan, India, or (of course) all the western countries... Turkey has many different kinds of deserts... most famous would be BAKLAVA since many people prefers to serve it to their guests or buy it as a gift to homeowner... however, my favourite three would be: HAMSI TAVA, EZME, KÜNEFE
